This authentic Savoyard restaurant welcomes you with a variety of fine-dining possibilities for your lunch break in the Courchevel Valley.

A mountain restaurant in Courchevel, Chalet de Pierres welcomes you with a sunny south-facing terrace for you to indulge in a fine dining experience on the slopes. The peaceful location and friendly atmosphere create the perfect setting for a delicious lunch break, especially as the staff cater to your every need including supplying throws, blankets and patio heaters if you chose to stay outside.

Inside, the authentic restaurant boasts a variety of pleasant dining areas for you to choose from including alcoves, bars and private rooms. The upstairs lounge and dinning area draws you in with a crackling fire as well as large bay windows offering breathtaking views over the surrounding snowy scenery. With its rustic old wood, cut stone and grand fireplace, the restaurant stays true to its cultural heritage and style. This is equally true of the choice of menu, as traditional Savoyard cuisine such as fondues and raclettes are on offer, as well as the restaurant's best-selling Beaufort tart.

For those seeking something less traditional, there are Italian dishes available and the terrace displays an incredible shellfish and seafood buffet.

Chalet de Pierres is open from 12:00 - 16:30. The restaurant is easily accessible on foot, on your skis or by car.

2. Bagatelle Restaurant

Part of the prestigious Bagatelle Bistrot brand, with branches in New York, Ibiza, St Barth, Dubai and London, this mountain restaurant brings yet more luxury to the Courchevel slopes.

Their terrace has breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc and the surrounding valleys with a 360º panoramic view. They serve the brand signature French cuisine, including foie gras, baked Mont d'Or cheese with truffles, tuna tartare, fresh fish and meat, pasta and even lobster. Of course, these all come with a super luxury price tag as well.

Open from December to April.

3. Le Cap Horn Restaurant

Cap Horn, a nautical themed seafood, rotisserie and sushi restaurant with an exceptional wine list.

It may be pricey but that's Courchevel 1850 for you and from the comfort of the large sunny terrace you can sit back and watch the millionaires rock up to the nearby Altiport in their private jets while you take your pick from a fresh seafood platter.

If fish isn't your thing they serve a good selection of salads, pasta dishes, omelettes, grilled meats and roasted chicken. If you enjoy good food, great wines and celebrations this is a great place to be.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, reservation recommended.

4. Le Base Kamp Restaurant

Situated on the Pralong piste, with a large decked terrace overlooking Courchevel's mountains, at this restaurant you can stop for lunch or a bite.

Located in the K2 Altitude hotel, at this restaurant you'll find a menu devised by chef Gatien Demcyna, of the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Montgomerie.

Enjoy a colourful array of Lebanese fusion cuisine around the terraces open fire pit.

5. Les Verdons Restaurant

This mountain restaurant is located at the top of the Verdons cable car that departs from Courchevel 1850 and at the bottom of the bubble lift that takes you up to La Saulire - in other words, right in the middle of the Courchevel ski area!

The close proximity to two main lifts means that it can easily be reached on foot as well as on skis, making it ideal for meeting up with friends.

The restaurant serves buffet and à la carte lunches, snacks and drinks every day from 11:00 to 16:00. The huge sunny terrace is a great place to fill up with a hearty skiers lunch! It is especially good on bad weather days due to the large cosy interior.

They serve a mixture of Savoyard and some international dishes (Chinese spring roll starter; eggs, bacon & chips). Main courses around €15 to €30 with a reasonably priced plat du jour.

Bookings can be made by telephone, please call ahead during peak season to be sure of a table.

6. La Cave des Creux Restaurant

Situated at 2112 metres, this restaurant has great views of Mont Blanc and the Courchevel Valley which can be enjoyed from their large south facing terrace with an outdoor fireplace. They serve regional dishes and Asian fusion cuisine.

Originally an Alpine cheese ripening cellar and sheepfold, the restaurant now has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is run by local ski instructors and brothers Florian and Boris Glise. They serve Savoyard specialities together with Asian fusion recipes, and boast a fine wine list. There is also a buffet of homemade desserts!

Open only during the winter season.

Decorated in antique wood and stone this restaurant has great views over the Saulire, with a bar and a fireplace to warm up by.

Simple,generous cuisine awaits you with a rich menu of classics such as Beaufort cheese tart, delicious cuts of meat, home-made bread and an incredible desserts buffet. Musicians, singers and a DJ are on hand to liven up your meal and top off a great day's skiing with music.

They serve local specialities, seafood, spit-cooked meats and have a great dessert buffet to choose from.

Find them on the Piste de Verdons in the Jardin Alpin area.

Located on the Bellecôte piste, this brasserie is the perfect stop for a break from skiing. Its large wooden terrace offers stunning panoramic views of the Aiguille de Fruit, La Portetta, La Grande Casse, and La Vanoise while you enjoy a drink or light lunch. The menu blends traditional Alpine dishes with Mediterranean grill options, and the pizzeria features a wood-fired oven, making it a relaxed, good-value spot to refuel on the slopes.

You can also enjoy your favourite Italian dishes at the pizzeria. Their authentic Napoletana pizzas are made fresh in the wood fired oven. Have a quick slice at the bar or enjoy a full lunch on the terrace. Due to the good value of the food, it gets really busy. Booking is recommended. The restaurant is a part of the Courcheneige Hotel.
