Chalets and apartments are usually the most popular accommodation options when it comes to ski holidays. They tend to offer more room, more flexibility in terms of catering and, sometimes, better prices. However, hotels are also a great choice for those visiting Courchevel, especially when you're not coming for a full week.

Why book a hotel room instead of a chalet or an apartment in Courchevel?
If you aren't planning on a full week ski holiday, hotels can offer much more flexibility on dates, plus many can't be beaten in terms of extended services and facilities such as gourmet restaurants, spas, swimming pools, fitness rooms, tennis courts, childcare, bike and/or ski hire, flexible catering options... the choices are endless. Other than the aforementioned five-star Palace hotels, these are the Courchevel hotels that, in our opinion, have something special that makes them different from the others:

1. Le Sivoliere Hotel
   Of the many luxury hotels on offer in Courchevel 1850, Le Sivoliere Hotel, situated in the forest on the western edge of the village, offers luxury without being too exclusive. A gorgeous Alpine chalet, it offers 35 rooms, suites and apartments as well as a luxurious spa and a gourmet restaurant lead by Michelin-starred chef Fanny Rey.
   
2. Le Chabichou Hotel
   One of the oldest luxury hotels in Courchevel, founded in 1963, Le Chabichou offers elegant accommodation without being ostentatious. It boasts all the services and facilities you'd expect from a five-star hotel including a spa, lounge bar, beauty salon, kids' club and even its own bakery and delicatessen shop. However, the hotel is mostly famous for its restaurant which, under the careful eye of chef Stéphane Buron, has held onto its two Michelin stars for over 30 years.

Tucked away in a quiet street, the building offers access to a restaurant, a spa, room service and concierge service, all just within 150m from the slopes.
   
2. Les Chalets de la Mouria Residence
   Also in Courchevel Moriond, 300m from the pistes, the Chalets de la Mouria have apartments for up to 12 people. It offers a high standard of accommodation with spa facilities that include a sauna, hammam and jacuzzi, as well as a range of catering options.
   
3. Les Chalets du Forum
   Part of the Pierre & Vacances holiday resort's chain, Les Chalets du Forum is a premium residence in Courchevel 1850 only 100m from the lifts. This is a good option for groups looking for a more affordable option as well as for families since there is a play area in the building. Apartments here can accommodate up to 10 people.

Family-friendly hotels in Courchevel

Most hotels in Courchevel are more than happy to welcome young children and many of them offer family rooms. However, there are many other things to consider, such as distance to the pistes, amenities and services within the hotel and facilities in the neighbouring area.

1. Les Sherpas Hotel
Four-star Les Sherpas Hotel in Courchevel 1850 boasts lots of family-specific features such as a games room, indoor swimming pool with spa, in-house ski and sledge hire, and even the chance to book an early dinner for the little ones. Baby equipment is available on loan, including cots, bottle warmers, high chairs and armbands and sunglasses for the pool.

2. Le Strato Hotel
Founded by Laurent Boix-Vives (the former head of Rossignol) this family-owned, five-star hotel has been a great place to stay for a skiing holiday in Courchevel since 1965. Kids will love the games room with videogame consoles and toys while the adults will appreciate the fact that they can book babysitting on request, allowing for free time to hit the spa and its relax in its striking pool decorated with a Murano glass chandelier.

3. Hotel des 3 Vallées
Located at the heart of Courchevel 1850, this four-star hotel offers ski-in and ski-out access. There are family rooms available and the hotel has a spa with an indoor pool, a restaurant and a lounge bar. Their concierge service can arrange babysitting upon request.

Cheap hotels in Courchevel

Courchevel isn't well-known for its affordability. However, there are some budget-friendly hotels in the area for those who want to enjoy the Trois Vallées without breaking the bank.

In our opinion, these three hotels offer the most bang for your buck.

1. Olympic Hotel
   Nestled in the middle of the swanky resort of Courchevel 1850 is this budget-friendly, two-star hotel. A small establishment with only 27 rooms, you'll get to enjoy all the amenities of Courchevel 1850 for a fraction of the normal price.
   
2. Les Edelweiss Hotel
   The three-star Edelweiss Hotel is a cosy chalet-style hotel in the heart of Courchevel Moriond. There are rooms and studios with a kitchenette to choose from. Free WiFi, a ski room with boot warmers and a lounge bar complete this establishment's offer.
   
3. Les Flocons Hotel
   Located at the bottom of the Tovets chairlift, you can reach the front door of Les Flocons Hotel with your skis on. This three-star family-run hotel has a lounge bar, as well as a small spa. Rooms are available on a bed and breakfast or half-board basis.

Ski-in & ski-out hotels in Courchevel

Most of the hotels in the Courchevel area boast easy access to the pistes and ski lifts, either sitting right next to the foot of the slopes or just a short trip away by one of the free local buses.

1. Hotel de la Loze
   Right on the pistes, by the Croisette area in Courchevel 1850 where fast lifts leave for the summits, is the Hotel de la Loze. This four-star hotel has everything you need for a perfect ski holiday in Courchevel, including a large spa area and a ski shop. Two apartments are also available here for those who prefer to self-cater.
   
2. Le Carlina Hotel
   Boasting direct slope access, this five-star hotel is also located in the heart of Courchevel 1850. With a touch of old glamour, its rooms are comfortable, its spa relaxing and its restaurant a gourmet's dream.
   
3. Le Lana Hotel
   One of the oldest and best-known hotels in Courchevel 1850, Le Lana Hotel is located right on the slopes and within easy walking distance of all local bars and restaurants. Boasting five stars, it has extensive facilities for families including a games room, a play area and a cinema room. There's also a spa and a fitness area, as well as a lounge bar and two restaurants.​
