1. Le Strato Hotel
Founded by Laurent Boix-Vives (the former head of Rossignol) this family owned hotel has been a great place to stay for a skiing holiday in Courchevel since 1965.
The hotel is located at the bottom of the Cospillot piste and just 5 minutes from La Croisette. Inside the decor is a mix of contemporary and historic memorabilia, with an elegant, comfortable style.
Each of the 25 rooms or suites is uniquely designed and is slightly different each time. You'll find fresh orchids in your room every day and state of the art fixtures, fittings and entertainment. There's free WiFi and an ipod docking station, plus spacious bathrooms, concealed TV's and separate shower rooms.
The four duplex suites are over 100m2 and feautre huge baths and large living rooms with mountain views. There's also a separate chalet "Individual Cottage" that you can stay in for added privacy.
Additionally, they rent a full hotel service in a very contemporary independent chalet with a large fireplace, open plan kitchen and cosy spacious suites.
They even have their own skis, the 'Strato Skis' designed and hand-made inspired by professional skiers. They are exclusively for guests to rent. Their facilities include a children's corner on one of the terraces with a play area, and a library gallery. You can also book your taxi or helicopter here.
