Explore the villages that make up the Courchevel valley
The resort of Courchevel is actually made up of several distinct villages, all at varying altitudes. The most famous of the villages is known simply as Courchevel itself, at 1850m. This is the one with all the five star hotels, the swanky nightclubs, the best access to the pistes and the village that people automatically think of. Slightly lower down on the same side of the mountain is Courchevel Village, at 1550m, which is just a gondola ride from the top village but a world away in price.
On the other side of the valley but still on the same road, is Courchevel Moriond (1650m), a lively resort in its own right, offering its own quieter ski area which also links to the wider Three Valleys pistes. The lowest resort is Le Praz, a traditional and charming mountain village. Linked by the road to Meribel and by lift to the rest of the slopes, is La Tania, a family-friendly resort that is popular with all ages and friendlier than its siblings to wallets. Take a look at the piste map to see where each village is located.
