Christmas week has arrived in Courchevel and the resort feels very much in winter mode now. The village is busy, lights are up, and the mountains above are holding a solid blanket of snow that gives the whole area a properly seasonal feel. There has been a steady build in conditions through December and as families and holidaymakers arrive, the slopes are looking ready for festive skiing.
Snow and Weather Summary
Snow depths across Courchevel are currently strong for this stage of the season, with around 120 to 150 centimetres reported on the upper slopes and roughly 50 to 70 centimetres lower down, depending on aspect and altitude. Recent snowfall earlier in the week added a fresh layer at altitude, helping to improve coverage and refresh piste surfaces. Temperatures have stayed cold overnight with freezing levels generally sitting below 1500 metres, which has helped preserve snow quality and support snowmaking on lower runs. On the slopes this translates to firm, reliable skiing in the mornings, particularly higher up, with softer snow developing later in the day where the sun catches. Valley level pistes are improving steadily but still benefit from careful grooming and colder nights.
