Local pisteurs and CRS mountain rescue teams have been searching for a missing British snowboarder last seen on the slopes yesterday afternoon.

The 35 year old man was last seen near the top of the Olympic chairlift in the Meribel valley on Saturday afternoon and it is believed he went off-piste alone. The search is continuing this morning, hampered by poor visibility and an off-piste avalanche risk rated as high.

2nd February - Search teams have resumed looking for the missing man this morning. He is not believed to have been wearing an avalanche transceiver. Our thoughts are with his family & friends and all those concerned in trying to find him.
