Winter Ski Eurostar Tickets on Sale Now!
Eurostar train services from UK to French Alps
Eurostar tickets to the French Alps went on sale this week for the upcoming winter season.
Trains run from London St Pancras International and Ashford International in Kent to Moutiers, Aime-La-Plagne and Bourg St Maurice; resorts such as Courchevel, Meribel, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Tignes and Val d'Isere are all within easy reach of these French towns by local bus or taxi services.
Return fares start at just £149, with no additional charge for a ski/board bag on top of the usual luggage allowance (and presumably far less chance of your luggage ending up in the wrong airport).
The ski services will run from 17th December 2011 until Saturday 14th April 2012, with day and night journeys on offer. Travellers opting to travel by night can squeeze the most out of their holiday by arriving early on Saturday morning and then leaving late on the following Saturday evening, allowing for an extra day on the slopes!
Travelling by train has become far more popular in recent years; as well as being much more eco-friendly it is also a more relaxing way to travel than by plane and allows you to arrive in resort feeling rested and ready to enjoy yourself. Although it seems more expensive than booking a flight through a budget airline, you are saving money on your airport transfer and by travelling through the night you are gaining an extra day of holiday without having to pay for accommodation... If we weren't already out here we'd be booking our tickets now!
