Vertical Kilometre Race from Le Praz to the Summit of La Loze

This short but brutal race covers a vertical ascent of 1000m over a distance of just 5km, on skis in the winter and on foot in the summer.

Held on various dates throughout the season the race starts from Le Praz Tourist Office and charges up the mountain to the summit of La Loze.

Amateurs are more than welcome to join in, the atmosphere is fun and friendly. Specialists will be battling it out to beat the records, with Skyrunners such as Kilian Jornet often taking part.

Ski touring kit can be hired from most sports shops in Courchevel, don't forget to bring a head torch for the evening sessions.

It costs just 10€ to enter and there is prize money of up to 500€ to be won! You can register on the day at Le Praz Tourist Office from 17:00 to 18:45.
