Caroline Sayer is back on her skis in the Three Valleys and enjoying a bonus week at the start of the 2008-09 season so much snow has fallen in the run up to the season that the Meribel and Courchevel lifts opened a week earlier than scheduled.

With around 130cm of snow on the summits and around 60cm in the resorts, conditions are exceptionally good for December. It has, however, been very cold.so much so that Caroline has starting seeing mysterious things in the sky.

There are loads of events in Courchevel and the 3 Valleys year round. From quirky local events to large scale sporting spectacles, there is always something worth visiting. Every February, the spectacular International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art comes to resort. Summer highlights include the Courchevel Air Show, the 3 Vallées VTT mountain bike event and the occasional stage of the Tour de France.
