Kilian Jornet to Participate in Vertical Race in Courchevel
World Champion to compete in ski mountaineering event
Spanish ultra trail/ski mountaineer Kilian Jornet has confirmed he will compete in this weekend's Vertical Race in Courchevel.
The event takes place at 16:00 on Saturday and will take place on the same course as the weekly Dynafit Ski Touring events from Praz up to Courchevel 1850 - a journey of 3.2km with over 500m of elevation.
Kilian Jornet is a legend when it comes to endurance events and has won almost every title going - from trail running events such as the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc in Chamonix, to sky running and ski mountaineering events. However he is yet to beat the Courchevel course time which is currently held by Yannick Buffet who completed it in the speedy time of 22 mins and 29 seconds.
Kilian Jornet is also currently working on his 'Summits of My Life' project - a 4 year quest to run the length of the world's greatest mountain ranges as fast as possible. Over the course of the project, Jornet intends to climb Mont Blanc three times, the Matterhorn, Mount Elbrus, Denali, Mount Aconcagua and Mount Everest.
For a chance to see the legend in person and in action, along with hundreds of other super fit athletes, come along to the event.
