Angela Hartnett one of the UK's most loved chefs and restaurateurs  brings her culinary expertise to the slopes of Courchevel. Angela is creating good honest and simple Italian style dishes using the best local produce.

Inspired by her Italian heritage, childhood memories of cooking alongside her Nonna and her love of authentic northern-Italian food, Angela’s menu is full of traditional Italian favourites, as well as daily specials and fresh hand made pasta, made in-house every day.

The restaurant is in the relaxed, casual style at Portetta, think rustic mountain chic with lots of reclaimed and textured wood and stone for the floors and bar. Rich colours and cosy fabrics, oversized banquette sofas, with warm-toned leather chairs and wooden tables!

2. La Saulire Restaurant, Courchevel

Expensive but worth it is the general consensus of this restaurant. Great service and exceptional food make this a good choice for a special occasion.

Jacques the owner, is renowned for being a good host who offers everyone a warm welcome - you are invited to call in for a drink at the bar even if you are not dining. Chef Benoît Redondo has created an exquisite menu, including lots of black truffle specialities. The wine list is a kind of bible with all the famous Grands Crus from Bordeaux and prestigious spirits and liqueurs.

Specialities include wild sea bass biscuit, fresh vegetables emulsion, smoked butter and flower of caviar, oysters, truffle risotto, caviar, roasted young pigeon with fresh truffles and Mont-Blanc meringue and chestnut cream. They also have a selection of cheese fondues, including one with fresh truffles.

Open from early December to mid-April. Lunch from 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner from 19:00 to 23:00. Booking is recommended.

Dine in a unique environment and peruse the independent retailers at the same time as the extensive and reasonably priced menu.

On the à la carte menu you're sure to find something that pleases everyone, with a wide selection of meat and fish dishes, as well as burgers and Savoyard dishes. There are also daily suggestions. A children's menu and some limited vegetarian options are available.

You'll be dining in unique spaces, with the choice between the relaxed library style area, or the chic piano bar and lounge.

After you're done eating, browse through the store area which holds an ever changing range of clothing, skiwear, accessories, and decorations from independent designers.

The venue also hosts regular music events, themed evenings, karaoke nights and seminars.

Open every day non stop from 09:00 to 22:00.

4. Les Enfants Terribles Restaurant

Go back to your childhood as you walk into Les Enfants Terribes! Enter into the universe of the 80s, full of nostalgia, with a DJ all night long playing your favourite tunes from the era. 

The menu is traditional French cuisine. The decor is retro. The atmosphere is friendly and festive. It's a fun concept restaurant, with a bit of added glamour.

Try the French onion soup of Fois Gras for starters, their mains include meats and fish, signature dishes and Savoyard specialities.

The wine list is extensive (28 pages!) and if you're not sure what to choose, the servers can offer recommendations.

5. La Table de Charlie Restaurant

A versatile restaurant, welcoming small and large groups, dining in or pizzas to take-away, and a varied menu. Very popular with locals and tourists alike due to the reasonable prices and lovely staff. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and the menu offers good, simple, hearty meals. I The service is efficient and the food is quick, so it's a great pit stop for lunch or a relaxed, easy dinner.

The menu is varied, offering local specialities of fondue, raclette and tartiflette, as well as delicious pizzas and pasta. The plat du jour is always a popular choice and a bargain.  Pizzas are also available to order for take away. Open daily from 11:00.

6. La Grange a Pizza Restaurant

In the centre of Courchevel 1850 and just 50 metres to the pistes. the staff are very welcoming and friendly, and it's a great choice for families, or groups. More than just a pizza restaurant, the foccacias and bruchettas are very popular, and there's a good variety of pasta dishes, too. If you're not too full you can try their sweet pizzas for desert. 

Open every day from 12:00 - 14:00 and 19:00 - 21:30.

7. Ava Restaurant

An unpretentious and reasonably-priced restaurant in Courchevel offering a warm welcome to those looking for a traditional Alpine atmosphere and a cosy dinner by the fire.

This restaurant is recommended by local hotels as the place for a nice, relaxed dinner in Courchevel 1850 without breaking the bank - not always easy to find! With a lovely cosy decor and a relatively small dining room of around 20 tables, this place feels homely and welcoming. The fire is ablaze in the evenings, setting the Alpine atmosphere.

On the menu you'll find the Savoyard section with popular dishes of tartiflette, Pela and fondue, including a fondue which comes served within a loaf of bread. The main menu is filled with delicious French classics, including Fois Gras, salmon, escargots to start, lamb shank, beef, chicken suprème, and fish of the day for mains.

The service is friendly and efficient, with the owners on the restaurant floor and only too willing to please.

Open every day for dinner from 19:00.

La Cortona is a great restaurant, run by an Italian family, it was named after the village they’re from in Tuscany. The pizzas here are huge and always fresh from a wood-fired oven. The pizza menu is inventive with toppings such as truffled ham and smoked salmon but they also integrate some classic Savoyard ingredients including raclette cheese and reblochon. The atmosphere in this restaurant is lively and always busy with French locals, seasonnaires and holidaymakers. It really is one of the best places to get an authentic Italian pizza.

Making pizzas in Courchevel for over 25 years! Cortona serves a wide variety of delicious pizzas made in traditional wood fired ovens as well as offering local specialities such as fondue and raclette. They also do good steak here too! The interior is simple and authentic and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Definitely worth a visit, especially as it offers such great prices. Open for lunch and dinner and open all day at weekends.

Following on from the success of Copiña in Meribel, the European Pubs family launched their Spanish influenced tapas restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of Courchevel 1650 in 2018.

In the former Arc en Ciel restaurant, Copiña Courchevel boasts a bigger kitchen than its sister venue in Meribel. You can enjoy tapas and raciones at the busy and bustling bar à l'Espagnol, or enjoy a  three course meal in the restaurant.

Literally translating to 'a small drink', Copiña offers an exciting and rare Spanish influenced drinking and dining experience in an intimate and relaxed setting. You can indulge in an impressive range of drinks and tapas, including cutting-edge cocktails, hand selected craft beers, world wines and Iberian sourced tapas. The cocktails are made using homemade ingredients and innovative techniques and the craft beers and wines are carefully selected from all over the world. Six different world beers are regularly rotated on tap and up to ten varieties of wine are offered by the glass, allowing you to try your favourites.

The Iberian influence shines through in their menu, which draws influence from Spanish tapas and uses only the finest, freshest, Spanish ingredients. Iconic 'jamón Ibérico', cheese and meats 'planchas' and other classics sit alongside a new range of exquisite Spanish influenced tapas, raciones and main courses with a cosmopolitan twist.

The restaurant has an open kitchen and a large raised platform at the rear where customers can enjoy breath taking views of the Courchevel valley whilst they dine.

Traditional Savoyard restaurant serving a range of pizzas too. Located in 1650, Pascal and his friendly team will serve you your meal with a smile and with large portions and great food you are sure to walk away feeling full and satisfied. Expect staples like fondue, raclette, tartiflette, and rustic meats - perfect after a day on the slopes. With its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and traditional flavors, it’s a go-to for warming up, sharing a comforting meal, and enjoying the genuine mountain spirit of the region.

We hear the Cèpe Fondue, steaks and pasta are particularly great. They also offer typical Savoyard dishes and wood oven pizzas. Open daily throughout the winter season.

11. L'Oeil de Boeuf Restaurant

The name of this restaurant means "The Bullseye" in English. It is on the main high street of Courchevel 1550, at the foot of the Tovets piste.

You can ski to it by heading towards the Tovets chairlift or in the evening you can use the wonderful Courchevel bus service which drops you off in 1550 about 150 metres away.

This tiny little 200 year old hut with just eight tables inside downstairs and about the same again in a recent extension upstairs, serves all kinds of food… as long as it can be cooked over the open fire at the end of the room. 

Specialising in many different cuts of beef, a great chateaubriand and cote de beouf, alongside other meats and fish dishes.

Definitely a must restaurant for meat lovers and with a sun terrace it makes for a great skiers lunch spot!

12. La Fromagerie Restaurant

This restaurant offers a friendly welcome and a cosy atmosphere. A crackling log fire, wooden beams, Savoyard mementos and candlelight set the scene as the delicious aromas of local specialities whet the appetite after a good day’s skiing.

A range of local dishes are represented on the menu, made from typical Alpine cheeses such as Tomme de Savoie, Beaufort, Reblochon, and many others. You can try the traditional Fondue Savoyarde or the Tartiflette, as well as less well known dishes such as Matouille (a cheese and potato dish flavoured with white wine), roast Camembert or Tartichèvre (potatoes, onions, diced bacon & goats' cheese).

The house speciality is the Potence Flambée (chunks of beef steak flambéed in whisky), cooked at your table!

13. La Chapelle 1550 Restaurant

Welcoming restaurant in the heart of Courchevel 1550, offering friendly service and delicious local food. This is a popular choice and it's a small plavce, so be sure to book.

Run by a husband and wife team (he's the chef and she's the front of house), this place is perfect for a romantic and cosy evening meal. The service is very personal and attentive. The dining area is small and organised around a warming log-burning stove. It's full of authentic charm and a real gem in Courchevel.

In the summer the terrace is an equally welcoming space to enjoy a meal in the sun.

On the menu you'll find local specialities including raclette, tartiflette and cheese hot-pots, as well as a small but carefully curated selection of pastas and meat dishes. There are a few vegetarian options, too. Children are welcome and there is a children's menu available.

Make sure you save some space for their tasty home-made desserts.

Open every day for lunch and dinner in summer and winter, excluding Sunday evening.

14. Le Caveau Restaurant

Accessible by ski from the pistes, on foot from the village, or by sledge as it's situated right at the bottom of the sledging slope! This restaurant offers a welcoming and cosy environment for lunch or dinner.

Set in an authentic mountain chalet, the restaurant is full of Savoyard decorations and furniture, offering a truly Alpine dining experience. With soft lighting, cosy corners and a blazing fire, this is a special spot for a romantic meals, but they can also accommodate larger groups around the bigger tables.

Diners appreciate the welcoming, friendly and efficient service here, as well as the excellent food. The menu is varied from hearty local dishes, to lighter options such as salads and delicious pastas. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.

It's location is excellent, wherever you are staying in Courchevel you can ski in for lunch as it's right on the snowfront, or you can access it easily  from the cable car which runs into the evening.

Open every day from 19:00 - 22:00. Be sure to book, as this place is popular!

This casual eatery is all about homemade, gourmet creations made with fresh, local ingredients. From classic cheeseburgers to wagyu beef and black truffle, the menu is packed with inventive options that cater to every taste and appetite.

You’ll find everything from beef and chicken to veggie and fish burgers, along with loaded fries and indulgent extras. Favourites include the Savoyard burger with raclette and potato rosti, the smash burger, and the fiery Mexican chicken option. For something extra special, try the Wagyu Truffle Burger – it’s indulgent, rich and well worth it if you're feeling fancy.

There’s plenty of choice for vegetarians, too, and you can eat in or take away. The service is warm and efficient, and the atmosphere is relaxed – perfect for a quick bite before heading back to the slopes or a casual meal with friends. Whether you go for the chilli beef, the avocado chicken or something covered in melted cheese, you’re guaranteed to leave full.

16. Henri Restaurant

Opened in 2019, in honour of the grandfather of the family who built the Edelweiss hotel in the 1970s, this family-run restaurant has been built on love and heritage, and has become a firm favourite in Courchevel 1650. Home-made cuisine in a warm and cosy atmosphere, with modern mountain decor. The menu has local specialities and traditional French dishes, as well as some more asian-fusion dishes and some bigger sharing meat dishes. There is also a large pizza menu, where the pizzas are also available to order for takeaway.

There's a good wine list, with a selection of wines from all regions of France. If you're not sure what to choose, the servers are knowledgeable and will be happy to recommend one to go with your meal choices. The bar stocks a great selection, and the team know some more unique cocktails for you to try. Open 12:00 - 14:00 and 19:00 - 22:00 every day.

This is an ideal lunch spot, right next to the piste and the fast six man Touvet chair lift. It's also a great place to meet if your kids are in the village ski school as the school meeting point is just outside the restaurant.

This restaurant is part of a family run hotel and serves delicious Savoyard cuisine which can be enjoyed either inside or on their sun terrace. Visitors can relax whilst taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and pine forests.

Right in the centre of Courchevel village, this restaurant is also a popular place to eat in the evening with its warm cosy traditional wooden interior.

Bistrot le C is located at the first stop of the escalator going down to the L'Aquamotion.

The chef has created exquisite recipes prepared with fresh and local ingredients, in the purest tradition of French cuisine. They menu offers a wide selection of à la carte dishes, suggestions of the day and a children's menu. They have carefully selected some of the best wines to complement the meals on offer.

It also doubles as a bar and café in the afternoon for après-ski, where you can enjoy a light snack, a hot drink or an aperitif.

Open everyday during the winter season for dinner.
