Situated in the very swish L'Apogée Hotel in Courchevel 1850, this restaurant is a real treat for lovers of Japanese food.

The name of the restaurant actually means "ice" in Japanese, which seems very appropriate given its slope side location just above the centre of 1850. The interior is elegant and calm but with a sushi station that opens onto the restaurant so you can watch the highly skilled sushi chefs freshly prepare your order before your eyes. 

All the Japanese favourites are on the menu, spiced edamame, tuna, salmon and sea bass carpaccio, flash fried wagyu beef , king prawn and vegetable tempura and crispy tuna or salmon tartare with a spicy sauce... All dishes are delicately prepared and beautifully presented and of course, best washed down with a splash of saké!

2. Henri Restaurant

Opened in 2019, in honour of the grandfather of the family who built the Edelweiss hotel in the 1970s, this family-run restaurant has been built on love and heritage, and has become a firm favourite in Courchevel 1650. Home-made cuisine in a warm and cosy atmosphere, with modern mountain decor. The menu has local specialities and traditional French dishes, as well as some more asian-fusion dishes and some bigger sharing meat dishes. There is also a large pizza menu, where the pizzas are also available to order for takeaway.

There's a good wine list, with a selection of wines from all regions of France. If you're not sure what to choose, the servers are knowledgeable and will be happy to recommend one to go with your meal choices. The bar stocks a great selection, and the team know some more unique cocktails for you to try. Open 12:00 - 14:00 and 19:00 - 22:00 every day.

At lunchtime you’ll see that most restaurants serve a well-priced plat du jour or dish of the day, usually with locally sourced meat, potatoes and a salad or seasonal vegetables. The majority of restaurants are child friendly and offer children’s menus. Some places stay open right through the day and into the evening so you can have an early dinner if that works best for your family.

Head to the ground floor of Le Forum shopping centre, right next to the ten-pin bowling alley and amusement arcade which children love. Here you can tuck into omelettes, burgers and pizzas.
