Ski for free this Wednesday in Courchevel!

featured in News & reviews Author Greg van der Donk, Courchevel Contributor Updated

Due to significant recent snowfalls, Courchevel is opening two lifts and a couple of pistes for skiers in just two days. With sunny weather forecast for Wednesday, they couldn't resist opening for the day. The best is that it is all for free!

The Verdons and Biollay lifts will be open from 09:00 to 16:00, along with their associated pistes. The Tovet lift will be open for pedestrians to allow easy travel between Courchevel Village and Courchevel 1850. In addition to the skiing being free, all parking is free as well.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the day, starting with breakfast at 10:00 through to a DJ and vin chaud at 14:00. Not only will you be able to enjoy the first turns of the season, but you'll be able to learn about the various people and machines that make a winter season possible. Piste-bashers will be doing demos and the kids will even be allowed to take a look inside!

It probably doesn't merit a last minute flight but, if you're in the area, you'll be able to enjoy a mini mid-week ski break. With temperatures set to remain low and more snow in the forecast over the next 10 days, it looks like winter 2017/8 could be off to a strong start in Courchevel.
