The spacious duplex apartment is situated just over the road from the Bellecote piste in Courchevel 1850 making it practically ski in and ski out.
Comfortably and elegantly furnished, the apartment is situated on the first two floors of the building.
Darkoum Kalo boasts a spacious open plan living area with large squashy sofas, a delightful open fire, flat-screen TV, Blu-ray DVD, Apple TV and Bluetooth soundbar.
Outside there is a large wrap around balcony, ideal for soaking up the sun and admiring the dramatic Alpine views.
The chalet sleeps up to 10 in five bedrooms which are configured as follows:
- Bedroom 1: Double room with en-suite bathroom (space for a cot)
- Bedroom 2: Double room with en-suite bathroom
- Bedroom 3: Twin/Double room with access to a shared bathroom with room 4
- Bedroom 4: Twin/Double room with access to a shared bathroom with room 3
- Bedroom 5:Twin/Double room with access to a private bathroom
The chalet is let on a catered basis. Your dedicated chalet host will provide a continental breakfast with a cooked option (cooked option 6 days), afternoon tea and a three course evening meal (6 days) with cheese and coffee to follow. Red & White wine is served throughout dinner. Children's High Tea is served at 18:00 and they provide a menu of healthy, nutritious food for children.
If you have any specific requirements you can discuss them with your host. On the chalet host day off, the chalet company's concierge service or your chalet host can recommend places to eat and assist in making bookings.

You’ll need to book your own childcare, when staying here. There is a great choice of childcare options in Courchevel from full-time nanny services to the odd night of babysitting. In addition, during the winter season, many of the ski-schools operate creche services. Booking in advance is always recommended and strongly advised for the school holiday periods.

The chalet company includes return flights from Gatwick/Manchester to Geneva/Grenoble in your holiday package (subject to availability).

Courchevel has an excellent free ski bus network linking to all the villages, however, it is unlikely that you'll need to use it as VIP Ski offer an in-resort chauffeur service between 08:00 - 20:00.
Tourism in the Courchevel Valley started as early as the beginning of the Twentieth Century with summer holidays rather than winter. The first skiers arrived in Courchevel in the 1930's and the development plan for a ski resort with the help of Lauren Chappis in the 1940's. The official name of 'Courchevel' was decided upon in 1946 along with the creation of the first hotel 'Trois Vallees Hotel'. The first ski lifts were installed towards the end of 1946 by Jean Pomagalski joining Courchevel Village to Courcehvel. By the late 1950's the resort consisted of; one cable car, three gondalas, six ski lifts and 210 buildings for accommodation. Development continued and over fifty years later there is currently 58 ski lifts and 150km of piste along with four separate resorts; Courchevel, Courchevel Moriond, Courchevel Village and Le Praz.
The resort of Courchevel is so extensive many people visit without actually skiing! There is every type of shop you can imagine from ski wear, clothes, footwear and jewellery to gifts and groceries. A great resort with lots of events throughout both summer and winter.
Courchevel has a huge range of restaurants, the choice is vast - you can eat in an igloo, have fondue and champagne in a Yhurt, have dinner at a woodcutters lodge and sledge back to your accommodation or drink mulled wine around a camp fire in a teepee! If you're looking for something less rustic you can enjoy seafood at 2000m at Le Cap Horn, treat yourself to 1* Michelin at Baumaniere 1850, upgrade to 2* Michelin at Le Chabichou, go Italian at Le Cenduee, enjoy traditional French cuisine at Le Mangeoire, try Asian Cuisine at Le Grand Cafe, sushi at Le Tremplin and Oysters at Exodus Cafe. If you want a good burger then try Jacks Burger or just a snack at La Grange A Pizza.

With the north facing aspect of many slopes in Courchevel they are some of the best in the Three Valleys. There are great views across to Mont Blanc and over the valley to Champagny and Bellecote in the La Plagne ski area.

Things to Do Nearby
There are numerous activities in Courchevel in both summer and winter. During the winter there are some really unique activities for a ski holiday such as; hand gliding, helicopter tours, ice climbing, ice skating, tandem skydive, sledge and toboggan. There's even the opportunity to drive a piste basher! In the summer along with walking and mountain biking you can take part in activities such as archery, climbing, cookery lessons and paintball.

On the Les Verdons platueau in Courchevel there is a nine hole golf course. There is also a driving range with 27 bays including seven covered bays along with pitching and putting greens.

The main lift hub for Courchevel is conveniently in the centre of the resort. There are a choice of 4 lifts directly from the snow front or if you would rather start skiing straight away you can ski down to Courchevel Village and Le Praz. The first of the four main lifts is the Chenus Bubble Lift which leads over towards the Col de la Loze Chair Lift connection with Meribel and La Tania. The Verdons Bubbe Lift which takes you to the top of resort where there are also connections to Meribel and skiing towards Courchevel Moriond. The Verdons lift is split into two halves, the first provides access to gentle greens and blues and the second more challenging reds and blacks. The remaining two options from the snow front are the Jardin Alpin Bubble Lift and the Bellecote Drag lift which both lead to beginner areas. If queues are particularly busy first thing in the morning, it is worth taking a short ski from the snow front to the Plantrey Chair Lift from where you can ski down to La Tania or take connections to Meribel.

Courchevel has a huge range of bars there must be something for everyone's apres tastes here; test the Master Barman in the art of mixology at Le 8611, enjoy some relaxing piano bar apres at Anna Purna, sample wine and charcuterie at Bar Joe, relax by the fire in Le Stanleys Bar, get that village pub feel from home in L'eQuipe, move on to the whisky's in Le Palace de Nieges and then treat yourself to vintage Champagne in Le Billini's - just to name a few!
